The Journey So Far...

I've been an outdoors enthusiast my whole life. I started young hiking high peaks in the Adirondacks, joining Cub Scouts on the first day possible, and making Eagle Scout on one of the last days possible just before turning 18 and leaving for college at The University of Delaware. I've taken a liking to photography over the past few years and enjoy planning adventures into the wilderness to capture the perfect shots.

The creation of Secret Hike was a combination of being inspired by what I saw from others on social media as well as my own passion for exploring and the outdoors. In June of 2020 in the midst of the pandemic I begun planning this site. With limited travel options available from my home in New York City I put my time into researching places all over the north-east which was the focus of this blog in the beginning.

 

After becoming exhausted with my job as an accountant and the pandemic situation in New York City in the winter of 2021 I decided to leave to hike the Appalachian Trail. On March 26th, 2021 I started in Georgia and on August 9th, 2021 I finished atop Mount Katahdin in Maine. I wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail to give myself the training and preparation to take on other treks around the world. 

 

I plan to continue the Secret Hike project for as long as possible and document travels across the US and around the globe.
